Invitations
Who this is for: All members — Aspirants, Recruiters, and Service Providers What you'll learn: What types of invitations you can receive, where to see them, how to respond, and what happens after you accept or decline.
Overview
An invitation is a direct request from a recruiter or project owner asking you to join their team. Unlike a job application — where you approach them — an invitation means they have found you and are reaching out to you. You can accept or decline at your own pace.
Types of invitations
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Project invitation | You are invited to join the team on a film, web series, or production project. |
| Job team invitation | You are invited to become a team member on a specific job posting (e.g. as a collaborator or crew member). |
| Event invitation | You are invited to participate in or be part of an event's team or cast. |
Where to find your invitations
- In your workspace sidebar, tap Invitations (or My Invitations).
- You will see a list of all invitations addressed to you, with a status badge on each one:
- Sent — You have received the invitation but have not yet viewed or responded to it.
- Viewed — You have opened the invitation but have not yet responded.
- Accepted — You accepted the invitation. The Association has been created.
- Declined — You declined the invitation.
- Tap any invitation to open its detail page and read the full request.
How to accept an invitation
- Open the invitation from your Invitations list.
- Read the details — the project, job, or event name, the role you are being invited to fill, and any message from the sender.
- Tap Accept.
- The invitation status changes to Accepted and an Association is automatically created for you (see Associations for more information).
How to decline an invitation
- Open the invitation from your Invitations list.
- Tap Decline.
- You may be asked to provide a brief reason. This is optional but helpful for the sender.
- The invitation status changes to Declined.
What happens next
After accepting:
- You become an official team member on the project, job, or event.
- An entry appears in your Associations list.
- Depending on the setup, you may receive further messages or access to files and team materials.
After declining:
- The invitation is marked as Declined. The sender can see this status.
- No Association is created.
- You can still be approached again by the same person with a new invitation in the future.
Common questions
Is there a time limit to respond to an invitation? There is no hard deadline set by the platform, but the sender may close the role or give it to someone else if you take a long time to respond. It is good practice to reply promptly.
Can I change my mind after accepting? Once you accept, you become a team member. To leave the team after accepting, you would need to speak to the project or job owner. Leaving removes your Association.
Can I change my mind after declining? Declining is final through the invitation itself. However, the sender can issue a new invitation to you if they choose.
Will I get a notification when I receive an invitation? Yes. You will receive a notification when a new invitation arrives. Check your notifications icon in the top bar, or go directly to your Invitations page.
Who can send me invitations? Recruiters and project owners can send invitations to Aspirants and other members they find through search or on the platform. You will only receive invitations from people on CTI.
Can I block invitations from someone? If you are receiving unwanted contact, please use the Report feature or contact CTI support.
