Creating your first profile
Who this is for: New members who have verified their email and are setting up their first profile. What you'll learn: The difference between profile types, what the setup steps involve, and what you can do once your profile is ready.
Overview
After you create your account, you need to set up at least one profile before you can use the platform. A profile is your active identity on Cine Talent India — it defines what you do here (perform, recruit, or offer services) and controls which features are available to you. The setup takes you through a short wizard and a subscription step.
Profile types — which one is right for you?
When you start the wizard, the first choice is your profile type. There are four options:
- Aspirant — For actors, models, dancers, singers, and any other performers or crew looking for work in film and entertainment. Choose this if you want to audition for roles, apply to jobs, build a portfolio, and be discovered by recruiters.
- Recruiter — For production companies, casting directors, and anyone who creates projects and hires talent. Choose this if you want to post jobs, manage applications, and run projects with a team.
- Service Provider — For businesses and freelancers offering services or products to the industry (for example, costume design, makeup, equipment rental, location scouting). Choose this if you want to list your offerings in the marketplace and be hired by productions.
- Guardian — For a parent or legal guardian managing an account on behalf of a minor. This profile type is free and does not require a subscription payment.
You can create multiple profiles under the same account, including different profile types, so you are not locked in permanently.
How to create your profile
- On the profile manager page, tap Create Profile (or choose from the available options if this is your first visit).
- Select your profile type from the list. Each option shows a short description to help you choose.
- If you chose Aspirant: You will be asked whether you are applying as Talent (e.g. actor, model) or Crew (e.g. director, editor). Then select the specific role that best describes you (e.g. Actor, Choreographer, Cinematographer).
- If you chose Service Provider: Enter your business name and select the categories of services or products you offer.
- If you chose Recruiter: You move straight to the display name step.
- On the display name step, enter the name you want to show on your profile (your full name, company name, or professional name). You will also see a preview of your Display ID — a short unique identifier derived from your username and profile type.
- On the plan selection step, review the available subscription plans and choose the one that suits your needs. Plans differ by features included and duration.
- On the payment step, review your order and complete payment. The platform uses a secure payment provider; your card details are handled directly by the payment gateway and never stored on the platform.
- After a successful payment, you are taken to a confirmation screen and then to your workspace, where you can begin filling in the rest of your profile.
Guardian profiles skip the plan and payment steps entirely. After entering a display name, your Guardian profile is created immediately and is free.
What "completing" your profile means
After the wizard, your profile exists but may be marked as incomplete until you fill in all the required fields (such as physical details, role descriptions, and a profile photo for Aspirants; or company information for Recruiters). The profile page shows you what is still missing. You do not need to fill everything in at once — you can return and update it whenever you like.
Once all required fields are filled, your profile becomes complete. A complete profile can then be made searchable, meaning other users can find you in search results. See the article on profile stages for more detail.
What happens next
Once your profile is created, you are taken into your workspace. From here you can:
- Fill in the remaining details on your profile page.
- (Aspirant) Build your Showcase, apply to jobs, and explore events.
- (Recruiter) Create a project, post jobs, and search for talent.
- (Service Provider) Add products and services to your catalogue, build your Showcase, and list yourself in the marketplace.
Common questions
Can I change my profile type after I have created it? No — the profile type is fixed when you create the profile. If you want a different profile type, create a new profile from the profile manager. You can have multiple profiles under one account.
Can I have more than one profile? Yes. Your account can hold multiple profiles — for example, an Aspirant profile and a Recruiter profile at the same time. You switch between them from the profile manager page after logging in.
What is a Display ID?
A Display ID is a short public identifier for your profile, formed from your username and a profile-type suffix (for example, yourname.actor or yourname.recruiter). It is shown on your public profile and helps people find or reference you precisely. You cannot change it once the profile is created.
What if my payment fails? The wizard stays on the payment screen and shows an error message. You can try again with a different payment method. Your profile is not created until payment is confirmed.
Do I have to subscribe immediately, or can I try for free? The platform requires a subscription to activate most profile types. The plan selection step shows the options available — choose the plan that fits your budget and needs. Guardian profiles are always free.
What happens if I close the browser halfway through the wizard? The wizard saves your progress. When you return, you can continue from where you left off.
