Content moderation and reporting
Who this is for: All members What you'll learn: What content moderation means on CTI, what happens if your content is flagged, how to report another user or piece of content, and what to expect after you report.
Overview
Cine Talent India reviews certain content to make sure the platform stays professional, safe, and fair for everyone. This process is called moderation. It applies to job postings, events, profiles, and media uploads. Moderation is not about restricting legitimate activity — it is about maintaining the standards that make CTI a trustworthy place for the industry.
What gets moderated
Not every piece of content is reviewed before it goes live, but the following are subject to moderation review:
- Job postings — jobs may be reviewed before or after they appear in search to confirm they meet the platform's standards for legitimate opportunities.
- Events — event listings may be reviewed before they are published widely.
- Profiles — profile content, particularly bio text, photos, and showcase media, may be reviewed against the Content Guidelines.
- Marketplace listings — products and services in the Catalogue may be checked to ensure they are genuine and appropriate.
- Reported content — any content that another member has reported is escalated to the moderation team for review.
What happens if your content is flagged
If your content is flagged during a moderation review, you may see it enter one of the following states:
- Under review — the moderation team is looking at the content. It may be temporarily hidden or restricted while the review is in progress.
- Approved — the review is complete and the content is cleared to remain live.
- Rejected or removed — the content did not meet the platform's guidelines and has been taken down. You will typically be notified and given a reason.
- Suspended — in serious cases, your account or profile may be suspended while a review takes place. You will be notified and given a path to appeal.
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you can appeal by contacting CTI support or using the Grievance Redressal process described in the Legal section.
How to report a concern
If you see a profile, job, event, or piece of content that you believe violates CTI's guidelines, you can report it directly from the platform.
Reporting a job posting
- Open the job posting detail page.
- Look for the Report option (usually a flag icon or a "Report this job" link near the bottom of the page).
- Select the reason that best describes your concern.
- Add any additional details that might help the moderation team.
- Submit your report.
Reporting a profile or other content
- Visit the profile or content page you want to report.
- Find the Report option (typically in a menu or at the bottom of the page).
- Choose a reason and provide any extra context.
- Submit.
You can report:
- Misleading or false information.
- Inappropriate photos or media.
- Spam or commercial abuse.
- Harassment or threatening behaviour.
- Impersonation of another person or organisation.
- Content that appears to be fraudulent.
What to expect after reporting
- Your report is sent confidentially to the CTI moderation team. The person you reported is not told who submitted the report.
- The team will review the content against the Content Guidelines.
- Depending on the outcome, the content may be approved, removed, or escalated to further review.
- You may receive a notification when the review is complete, but CTI may not always be able to share the specific outcome due to privacy constraints.
- If you believe no action has been taken on a genuine concern, you can escalate via the Grievance Redressal process.
Common questions
Will the person I report know it was me? No. Reports are confidential. The person you report will not be told your identity.
Can I be penalised for reporting something that turns out not to be a violation? Good-faith reports — where you genuinely believe there is an issue — will not result in any penalty. Repeated false or malicious reports may be reviewed separately.
My content was removed — what can I do? Contact CTI support to understand the reason and ask for a review if you believe it was removed in error. You can also use the Grievance Redressal process for a formal appeal.
How long does a moderation review take? Review times vary. Simple cases may be resolved within a few hours; more complex cases may take longer. If your content is time-sensitive (e.g. a job closing soon), contact support to flag the urgency.
What if I am being harassed by another member? Report the content or profile immediately using the steps above. If you are receiving threatening messages, you may also report this via the Grievance Redressal route and, if necessary, contact local law enforcement.
Can I report a Service Provider listing I think is fake? Yes. Use the Report option on the Marketplace listing page or the provider's profile.
